Cabinet has approved the first draft budget proposals for 2020/21. The spending proposals are now open for a six week public consultation and can be viewed at; http://meetings.fdean.gov.uk/documents/s24194/F.458%20First%20Draft%20Budgets%202020-2021%20cab%20191219.pdf
On 13 January 2020 at 5pm there will be a Public Budget Consultation Event at Forest of Dean District Council to discuss the Council’s draft budget. A presentation of the document will take place followed by a discussion session. The Cabinet are keen to hear people’s views and suggestions on the budget going forward.
Forest of Dean residents wanting to recycle their real Christmas trees will be able to leave them out for collection between Monday 6 and Friday 17 January 2020 on their normal garden waste collection day.
The Christmas tree collection service – operated by the Forest of Dean District Council and waste contractor Biffa – is available to all households, including those without a current garden waste licence.
To use the service, residents need to put their tree out at the kerbside by 7.30am on their scheduled garden waste collection day between the two dates. Garden waste collections take place on the alternate week to the refuse collection for most properties.
Forest of Dean residents are being encouraged to reuse more as Halloween approaches to reduce the amount of rubbish going in the bins and in particular to avoid plastic waste.
